The Modules
There are seven modules that ship as standard with the EpiQuestLive system.
Additional custom built modules can be added to order.
The fact that the system is built in this modular way means that you can purchase just the modules you need and bolt on the additional modules as and when you need them.
The standard modules are:
Patient Admission
The live HL7 listeners process the information from the hospital ADT system to give live patient admission details within the EpiquestLive system. The system has advanced tools to deal with merging of duplicate patient records. A complete history of all previous admissions is kept for easy reference.
The patient 'dashboard' shows the last five admissions, last five laboratory results, last five recent surgeries and any infection incidents that have been created by your staff.
The admission screens show information such as next of kin, allergies, insurance details, admitting diagnosis, procedures, in fact as much information as you can provide we can display.
The patient admission screen is fully ajax enabled so that as you type a search suggested results are immediately presented to save a huge amount of typing and time.
Laboratory
The laboratory screens show all of the details on any results both positive and negative along with the status of the results. As soon as the laboratory system has sent the results to our system they are available against the patient record.
The information is presented in a window that appears on top of the dashboard so that the patient details are always in sight.
The laboratory screens are tailored to your hospital and can show as much information as you can provide.
Surgery
The surgery screen shows all of the available surgical information for example the start / stop time, the ASA rating, the surgeon(s), anesthetist, all staff present, the surgery type, the OR room, the service, the devices used, the drugs used, dosage, times etc. and a whole host of additional information.
Radiology
The radiology screen shows all of the available radiology information that is available from the radiology department. As soon as the information is available it is loaded into the Epiquestlive database and is available for use with the particular patient. If HL7 feeds are not available we can still take this information via a flat file and have it automatically processed to bring it into the system.
Pharmacy
The Pharmacy screen shows the drug, the route, the dose, the frequency, start date, end date, the prescribing physician, any current prescription, known allergies, a free form notes area and much more.
CDC Reporting
The system comes with a reports module that provides all of the reports required by CDC.
These can be tailored to your exact requirements and once created they can be scheduled to run at set times from every minute to once a year. In this way a 'live' report can be generated and delivered to interested parties instantly using totally current live data.
Some of the features of the reports module are:
- It is completely open and flexible. The system can report on almost anything that is held in the database.
- reports can be build to have drill down functionality
- reports can have graphics, graphs, library pictures, external notes etc. Built in
- reports can be delivered in many formats e.g. PDF, excel, word, txt, csv, HL7 etc etc.
- once created the reports can be scheduled for delivery 24/7
- reports can be delivered to any registered user on the system. For example a Unit nurse might require a daily report at 7 am for the current situation in the unit. This would arrive via email every day with the relevant information.
- reports can be set to give comparisons to standard norms e.g. NIMMS and deliver standard deviations away from norm etc.
NHSN reporting
To meet new legislation the NHSN reports module is tailored to your hospitals exact needs to produce the reports required by NHSN. This includes your HL7 Oid identifier and each report preformatted in XML ready to automatically transmit to NHSN.
EpiQuest is one of 6 vendors participating in the pilot for uploads to CDC NHSN with 100% success
